"If the sea is blue... is also thanks to the yellow fleet"

The exhibition ‘Mission Earth 2016 – The sea: the blue lung of the world’ has been launched in the United Nations Headquarters in New York. It was promoted by UniVerde Foundation, in collaboration with Marevivo, Italy’s Permanent UNO Representative and the Italian Geographical Society.

It included 15 superb shots of the coastal areas of the National and Regional Parks, and 15 underwater shots taken in the Protected Marine Areas, selected among the many entered for the photo competition ‘Obiettivo Terra’. Participating in the event were the Environment Undersecretary Silvia Velo, in the frontline when it comes to launching policies to defend the sea at the national and international level, the President of Univerde, Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, the Italian Permanent Representative at the UNO, Sebastiano Cardi, the President of Marevivo, Rosalba Giugni, and Ferdinando Boero, Professor of Marine biology and zoology at the University of Salento. Together with the exhibition, there was also a video by Marevivo on best practices, made in Italy to illustrate the energy captured from the sea and the protection technologies devised by Castalia and implemented with its fleet of antipollution vessels deployed along all Italy’s coasts.
