2013 – 2016 – EMSA – Mar Adriatico – Stand-by oil spill recovery services
The Castalia Consortium, in joint venture with Giuliana Bunkeraggi, has entered into a contract for support and assistance against spills in the sea with EMSA, the European Maritime Safety Agency, which is in charge of the maritime safety of the European Union Member States.
As from 2004, the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) has been assigned the responsibility to supply, on request by Member States, a network of vessels to recover polluting material. Thus these vessels must be rapidly convertible for the purpose of recovering such material, and they must be ready for action in the case of a major oil spill at sea.
Below are photos illustrating conversion of the vessel MARISA N.
